Nutcracker with Ginny & Aubree is home...YAY

Last Friday (12/13) evening, Ginny treated my mom and I to the Nutcracker in Jackson as my mom's Christmas gift from her.  I took the day off work, did a little Christmas shopping after my dentist appointment, took Jake lunch, and then met Ginny at 1:00 for us to head to Jackson.  She and my mom had pedicures and the we went to dinner before heading to the ballet.  Ginny was so excited and shared how attending the Nutcracker with Nana growing up is one of her favorite memories....primarily because she remembered pink & purple ballerina cupcakes. It was an enjoyable evening with my daughter.

Tuesday (12/17) evening I gathered a group of ladies from church to go see another member of our Relief Society in a Christmas musical.  I enjoyed dinner beforehand and enjoyed the musical more than I thought, probably because the congregation joined in to sing three carols.  It also made the evening sweeter, when she saw us and smiled so big.  I am reminded at times, when I see people struggling, even my own children, of "who is fighting for them?". Jake often tells the youth...to fight like dragons for one another and it is probably something we should all do for one another. After the concert, I was off to the airport to get our Aubree!

Aubree is home and although it is only temporary and for a couple weeks, I am glad.  My heart was happy last night when all my kids ended up in the my room on the bed with me and then Jake came in the room after getting back from church.  In my head, I thought I always want to remember this, so figured I best write about it quickly.  Today, Aubree and the boys drove downtown and had lunch with me for my birthday.  I have also received some very kind texts, which was really nice because often my birthday is forgotten because it is so close to Christmas.  My mom and dad called and sang me a song this morning.

Wednesday (12/8) evening, Aubree and I accompanied Christopher to the temple with the youth as families were invited.  I was a little sad that far too little showed up and of these ones that did, none had family there.

Here are a few of my favorite messages from the day (12/19):

1. "Hope you have a wonderful day! The world is a better place with you around. Happiest of birthday wishes." - Julie Ritter

2. "Happy birthday to the closest to perfect person I know!! I love you so much. I miss you everyday." - Charity

3. "Happy, happy birthday big sister. I couldn't have asked for a better sister and example! I was just thinking about when were a teenager and you working hard to help with Christmas! Thank you for all you do and did for us! The world is a better place because of you." - Sandra

4. "Happy birthday beautiful!!! I thank God for you everyday. I hope your day is wonderful." - Jake

5. "Dear mom, You have made my life so much more bearable (this was a bear face picture and able after it) and better by being a part of it. I love how you always get me and help me push through challenges. I wouldn't be here today if you weren't by my side. Because of this I'm giving you a stress free session filled with an hour of massaging. Thank you for being a light to the world." - Christopher
