My crazy boys!

The older my boys get the more I realize they are typical boys..... Friday morning, I was awakened to hear Aubree and Jacob William planning a funeral for a bird the dog had killed.  I made them both come in, Jacob William explained to me the bird was dead but it was okay because it would be resurrected. Later that afternoon, we have company over and he marches in with dead bird in his hands for everyone to see. Yuck!, so I make him take it outside and explain its nasty and the bird am have a disease. He also shared with our company that because Jesus died the bird would be resurrected,  at least he is learning the gospel, right?
Today at church, Jake and I were both teaching classes and in walks my Christopher with his nursery leader, stating he had to potty. After class, I tried to take him potty but he did not have to go. The little stink has figured out that saying he needs to potty gets him brought to mommy and daddy.......
Last week, Ginny tried out for soccer. There were 89 girls that tried out but only about 18 made the team. She went to clinicals for two days and try outs were the following two days. She was at least hoping to make the first cut to be able to come back the second day. When I arrived to pick her up, I saw about three of her friends running out but no Ginny. Quickly, I realized that her friends made the cut and she did not. My heart broke when I saw her come out with a small tear, she was trying to hide, and disappointment filled her eyes. I know failure is a must in life and increases capacity in other areas and for learning but it was so hard for me.  I am sure my heart hurt more than hers, it is terrible to see any of your babies hurt.

So, recently Jake has lost a lot weight, I mean back down to a size 36. He looks great. The other night at dinner I was harassing him about who he was trying to impress. After a minute of perplexing, he looks over at me and says "did it ever occur to you, that I am trying to impress you?"  How sweet is that but I love the man exactly the way he is!
The kids are all doing well, and growing like crazy. The girls were chosen to play in the all-city piano recital and did fantastic. Aubree was excited and nervous for days but sounded beautiful!
