Vacation is over

Vacation is over and the drive home was long. Over the two weeks, we drove over 5000 miles and spent over 50 hours in the car but it was well worth it to be together. The kids enjoyed Mormon Row, white water rafting, hiking (seeing a bear on one of the hikes), seeing wildlife, geysers, playing games, and the waterfalls and cascades. We stopped by parts of the Oregon trail, Mormon Trail (Martin handcart company), and one of the first pony express stops. Memories were made and times enjoyed. The girls even wrote stories through the eyes of their parents that I should try to put on here.

Summer vacation day 6

We bid farewell to James and Kara this morning to head to Victor, ID to begin our Yellowstone part of the adventure. Before we left their home, Jake received news that his Grandma Smith will probably pass very soon. My heart hurts for his mother and my mom this weekend as it is her first Fathers Day without Papaw and the exact anniversary of Mamaw's passing (it'll be 23 years tomorrow, she passed 6/19 and it was Father's Day).
We stopped at several state parks along the way and just spent time together, it was absolutely great!
