Gratitude for my Girls

I have two absolutely wonderful girls. I can not express how grateful I am for them and the help they render me. This past week Aubree was star student in her class, so I was able to spend some time at the school. It makes me feel so good that they still want me around because I am fully aware that the time will come when it will be "uncool" to have mom around. Aubree also shared with me this week that one of her dreams is for Grammy&Papa and Nana&Papa to be our neighbors on each side, how cute is that. Ginny is great, she is such a help with the boys and often does not even have to be asked before she helps out. Ginny has worked very hard to master her multiplication tables; she received a C on her first quiz and was determined to do better. We practice every day after school and she has made all A's sine then.As for the boys, they are pure trouble. Both the boys love being outside, cars, burgers, and their little hot rides. Christopher is becoming more mobile. He still army crawls most of the time but is crawling on his knees a little more these days too. As for Jacob William, he wants to do everything that his daddy does. He enjoys throwing the football and checking the garden daily.

There are some days where all I want to do is cry....and sometimes for no reason, today is not one of those days but could be. Today started as a normal day, with the exception I had a bad dream and when I walked in the living room, someone was knocking at the door...needless to say, I freaked myself our just a little. After gaining my composure, I fed the boys and sat down at the computer. A month ago, I enrolled in classes and have been doing a good job thus far about managing time and keeping up. However, I received a phone call while waiting on the girls to get our of school, informing me that only 36 hours would transfer in. I was a bit upset and frustrated because I was originally told a minimum of 48 and I have an associates of Science. That adds 12 more credit hours, which is a full time semester and an additional $4800, so I think I have every right to be frustrated. To sum it up, my academic counselor is investigating the situation but still, its a lot of money and time...more than i had planned. So, worse case scenario, I have to decide if it is still worth it and if I can do it.

Boys will be boys

Our little Christopher has officially suffered his first boy injury. A couple of days ago, the kids were playing out in the backyard and Christopher decided that we wanted to join them. He was on his little riding toy and took off towards the door. He does not understand the concept of not cruising over steps, so he continued at full speed. Then suddenly, I hear a little boy crying. I quit I was doing to go see the problem and was sad to find a crashed little boy and his Buzz ride laying beside him. As I picked him up, I notice blood and see his injuries. Not only did he skin his little chin but his left eye was surrounded by blood. He had cut in four places. Breaks my heart to still look at him. It has been a few days and his chin is still very scratched and he has a nice, little, black eye.

Happy 7th Birthday Aubree!!!!

Happy Birthday to our Angel
Seven years ago today our little family became a little bit larger, brighter and closer to complete. Our sweet, angel, Aubree entered this world and quoting one of her school teachers "the world is a better place because she is in it". Aubree brings character in our family and reminds us daily of compassion. She is thoughtful and giving. Aubree enjoys singing and dancing. She likes to trick her brother too. Aubree's favorite restaurant is Olive Garden and Happy Mexican. We went to Olive Garden Friday evening because her birthday was on Sunday. However, I asked Aubree what she wanted for her birthday, her reply was hamburger helper, white beans, brownies, and breakfast in bed. I have a deep love for that precious little girl and hope for nothing but the best in life for my babies. Currently, Aubree likes unicorns, pillow pets, and barbie dolls. She is a light in our life and in the life of others that she interacts with. We are glad Heavenly Father blessed our family with her. Happy Birthday Aubree, we love you!!!

Kids say the funniest things ever and likewise, do the funniest things. Here are a few of my current favorite things about my kids in no particular order:
1. Ginny and Aubree have Will convinced that thunder is a monster. When he hears thunder, he runs to hide saying a monster is coming.
2. Aubree has recently enjoyed putting dress up and jewelry on her brothers.
3. Aubree asks at least weekly, how she will know when she is in love.
4. Ginny is a pro at cooking and enjoys bringing breakfast in bed on Saturdays. Her breakfast is usually milk and toaster strudels and her lunch speciality is Ramen noodles.
5. The other night during dinner, Aubree says "This is so damn good." We asked her to repeat what she said to make sure we heard her right, we did, and after silent chuckles, explained it is not a good word.
6. Will wants to be exactly like his daddy and tries to do all that he does.
7. Christopher is obsessed with riding on his little Buzz Lightyear riding toy, which he cruises at (probably why he is not walking) and LOVES nacho cheese Bugles.
8. Both the boys enjoy playing cars. Christopher can even make the car sounds. Speaking of sounds, Jake plays like he is shooting dinosaurs all the time. Why? Who would have ever guessed he would follow in Ginny's footsteps and love watching Jurassic park.

These are just of my favorite things right now. I am blessed to have 4 beautiful babies!
