Happy Mother's Day

Today is a day set aside to celebrate our moms and the women in our lives. I feel very fortunate that I am surrounded by such influential, wonderful women in my life. I am also fortunate to have my mother still with me and have great sisters. I am also thankful for the women past, present, and future who touch my life or will. I am grateful that Heavenly Father has entrusted me to be a mother and that I have the opportunity to have two, beautiful daughters who touch my life everyday.
This week has been a busy one, full of fun and a few changes. I accepted a job to work in a new area at work, the girls had their piano recital, Michael and Amy moved down, and James had a pig roast. Both my girls played wonderfully at the recital. They both seemed poise and confident. I was one proud momma.
James had a pig roast to celebrate his graduation from dental school, it was a little chiller than expected but the three young boys still managed to play in the water and get sopping wet. Christopher, Riley, and Jack have such a fun time together and are going to pure trouble when they grow up. They are precious and fun to watch.
Mom was lucky enough enough to have her 12 grandchildren,  6 children, and 5 spouses at church with her today. This was the first time in a long time that this has happened. I am glad we were able to do it for her.

Happy 11 Years to Us

Cinco de Mayo is a very special to me, why, it was on that date that I married my eternal companion and our journey together began. Eleven years ago, I was certain that I knew what happiness, joy, and love were but I can honestly say that I am more in love, happier, and have more joy today. Personally, I have come to believe that love and happiness grow with time and it only gets better if you work at it. With that said, I am blessed because I do not think Jake is a hard person to love. Five homes, four children, three states, two houses, and one couple...life is bliss.
Today, was a bittersweet day for us as well, Jake was released from the bishopric and I as gospel principles teacher from the Memphis 2nd ward and after sacrament we ventured to our new ward. We have grown to love so many in the 2nd ward and it has been a wonderful six years for us there. We have met people that will have touched our lives forever and developed friendships with people from our callings that may not have blossomed otherwise. We are grateful and will miss the ward. On the way to our new one, we both expressed a little nervousness but all will be well. I am confident that we, too, will love it as well. It also helped there were some familiar faces from the past in there.
I am grateful for the opportunity that I had to serve as a gospel principles teacher, teaching that class brought the simplicity of the gospel back to life for me. The gospel is simple and I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. I am thankful to have witnessed my husband's testimony grow as he served. The Lord lives and He loves us, along with our Heavenly Father!
