Papaw

Since Papaw was not able to make it down Christmas Day, we came to visit him yesterday and then stayed at mom and dads. Papaw was glad we came to his house. The boys were a little wild but I think it was overlooked by joy. I am thankful that he and Mamaw were always a part of my life. I am thankful that my husband and children are able to see him. Sometimes I wish mamaw knew them but I like to think she bid them (my kids) farewell as they came to earth.

Christmas 2013

Christmas was spent this year here in Bartlett TN. I was off Christmas Eve but unfortunately had strep throat. I found out the 23rd. The 24th I took two of the kids to be tested and Ginny tested positive for strep as well. That evening we sang a few carols and watched a show. Jake and the well kids baked cookies and took them out. A part of me felt as though I had ruined Christmas but Aubree reminded me it was just about being together. It was nice and I believe the kids each had a good Christmas. Jacob William found the rest of his gifts after we had cleaned up and he went to start his game, his dad had created a little battle scene. Christmas afternoon we went over to Michaels to exchange cousin gifts, get gifts from Nana and Papa, and then ended with a delicious Christmas dinner.

We took all the christmas decor  down the 26th and 27th to celebrate our boy today (our house looks so bare). Today our sweet boy turned 6. He celebrated at school on the 17th so was a little confused thinking he turned 6 that day or that everyday was his birthday. He was excited all day long. He asked to sleep in our bed last night, so Jake let him but I still put streamers all over his door when I got home from work. Today his wish was to have Ravioli for lunch and lasagna for dinner but we went out for lunch. He heard the servers sing happy birthday to another table and thought they were singing to him so we asked them too. He kept saying he had to eat so they could sing to him but when they came over, he was so shy. Some of Jake's current favorite things are: pizza, macaroni and cheese, fire steak (Seiksui hibachi bar), chips, sky lander toys and video games, his toy story sheet, and a small stuffed Winnie the Pooh.  He loves the song "What does the fox say". He has taught us that boys can be a little more challenging sometimes because he us always on the go and into something but I'll take those lessons any day. I'm blessed he calls me mom and his girlfriend, gives sweet kisses, and when he hears music dances with me. He tells daddy daily "I stole your girlfriend."

Nothing too out of the ordinary going on these days. We are just enjoying being together. There's no other place I'd rather be than with these goof balks.
