The following week another member passed and that memorial service is today (4/14), Jake was a little saddened because he was unable to make it, but did reach out to the family and help plan everything. This was the first one he has not physically been there for and serves as his 15th funeral as bishop.
This past weekend was busy, busy too. Jake and Ginny participated in a Death by 5k, basically you run a 5k every 2.5 hours for 24 hours, so about 31 miles. Tommie (Jake's brother) and his son, Oscar drove down to participate in it as well. I believe the running was not enjoyable but being together was. They set up tents and hung out in between runs. As for me, I ran errands most of the day, had dinner with my mom and Seth (who flew in Saturday from Idaho), and then babysat that night for Aubree so she could go hang out with her sister.
I also took Will to get a senior picture on Saturday. He looked remarkably handsome and I think he enjoyed having his picture taken. Yesterday (Monday 4/13), he went to pick up his cap and gown. He sent me a picture of and I could not contain the tears. It is hard to believe the high school battle is almost over for him. I look forward to seeing the young man he will become as he remembers who is and sees his potential.Seth also made a quick visit to bring his girlfriend to Tennessee. The day they flew back, he was able to meet Ginny for lunch since she was racing the day the rest of us had dinner (I neglected to get a photo).
